Rewards and prizes
This page is made to show you what prizes and rewards you receive for participating and placing well in our events!
There are currently two ways to earn a prize or trophy in our events:
1) Placing top-3 in our in-person events, that consist of three skill groups (beginners, advanced and experts)
2) In our online "UCT Chess League". There players collect points for participating in online arenas, that happen couple of times every month. Based on result and online Performance, players earn points for their individual skill. After last arena ends, 5 players with most points (or best criteria) receive rewards for their placement. Top place receives a trophy, while other places earn merch or items connected to our school or/and chess.

All winners deserve their prize - not only for winning or placing well, but also because of continual participation in our events.
If you see your name in the chess-figure above, it makes you one of those winners, who still haven´t received their prize.

School merch
Rewards also consist of merch from our university. Winners have their own say in which item they would prefer to receive. Of course, better placement means better item!
