WELCOME TO UCT CHESS CLUB
A place where everyone is welcome
and everyone finds their place;
no matter what their chess skill level is.
We are a group of students and chess enthusiasts, who are trying to host events for players of all the players - no matter their skill levels, age, language, ....
We have a lot of experience with hosting open tournaments and official FIDE tournaments - in our ranks, there are chess arbiteurs, semi-professional players, coaches, event organisers, team and group coordinators, and much more!
Our speciality is a "FIDE marathon" - set of FIDE RAPID and FIDE BLITZ tournaments, that take play one after another - rapid in the morning and blitz after lunch (same location, same equipment, same room, same organisation).
